Chelsea are set to offer Brazilian winger Willian a new contract as they look to keep the player due to the transfer ban.
The Bluesare currently under a transfer ban which means that the club cannot make any transfers in the summer. A two-year contract is on the offering as the club has paused the policy of only offering single year deals to players above 30 years.
The clubhas offered a couple of veteran players new contracts with the likes of Olivier Giroud and Willie Caballero recently signing new one year deals.
Willian is a player that divides opinion with some section believing that he is an average player while others say that he is a quality player. Despite this, Willian has been a regular under Mourinho, Conte and Sarri which shows that he is a quality winger. His performances this season has been mixed but he was part of the team that won the Europa League.
Chelsea are currently without a manager after the exit of Maurizio Sarri to Juventus was confirmed over the weekend. The club are believed to have approached Championship side Derby County about the services of manager Frank Lampard. The Chelsea legend stock has risen after he took Derby County to the cusp of promotion last season losing to Aston Villa in the promotion playoffs finals.
One person who believes that the Blues will be fine next season is Ivorian legend Didier Drogba. Speaking after a charity game the 41-year-old insisted that Chelsea is a big club that can cope with the exit of players and managers.
Drogba is right because over the cause of Roman Abrahamovich reign at the club one constant had been trophies despite the high turnover of managers.
