BUSY WINDOW

As.Monaco had one of the busier and active transfer windows in the entire French league with Aymen Abdennour being their latest signing as they managed to sign him on the deadline day. Abdennour is a 24 years old defender that arrived from Toulouse and completed his move to As.Monaco on the very last day of January.

Having made over 80 appearances for Toulouse he decided that a switch to Monaco would be a better choice for him. The loan deal lasts until the end of the current season with an option for a permanent move depending on how he performs on his new club.

The player had nothing but praise as he went out to talk about his recent transfer. Abdennour told the club’s official website. “I am very proud; AS Monaco FC is a great club, very professional, with excellent staff, great players and great ambition. I am ready to help my team-mates. I will do everything to succeed. We have a special purpose.”

Dimitar Berbatov is another player that As.Monaco managed to sign on the deadline day as he joined the French side on a loan deal that will be seeing him remaining with Monaco until the remainder of the season. As.Monaco looked around in the transfer market for someone who could replace the Colombian Radamel Falcao and concluded with Berbatov.

Falcao sustained the injury during Monaco’s match against Chasselay when Soner Ertek tackled him inadvertently but despite being out injured for the remaining matches of the season, the Colombian stated that he does not blame Ertek for what happened in the game.

Falcao tweeted Ertek saying: ‘Soner Ertek thanks for your posts. Do not blame yourself for what happened as it was a soccer accident’.
